1. Radioshift 1.5 Is Here!

Late last month, we released a major update to Radioshift, our internet
radio player and recorder. This large update focused on improving many
different aspects of Radioshift.

To start, Radioshift now supports thousands of new streams which were
previously only available via web-based players, including some of the
world's most popular streaming stations.

We've worked to improve Radioshift's reliability as well. With version
1.5, when errors are detected with a stream, Radioshift will attempt to
get the stream playing again by restarting it. It will also attempt to
load backup streams when they're available. Even with less reliable streams,
Radioshift will be working to make sure you get your audio, automatically.

There are plenty of other updates in Radioshift 1.5, from an improved
interface to support for transmitting its audio via Airfoil and much
more! Best of all, all of this is entirely free for owners of
Radioshift. So if you already use Radioshift and you're on Mac OS X 10.5
or higher, get it now.

If you've never used it, try Radioshift free today! Even if you've tried
it before and didn't purchase it, Radioshift 1.5 is worth a second look.
Visit the Radioshift page for more information on our innovative internet
radio player and recorder.

2. Airfoil 3 Updates

Airfoil 3 has been out for two years now, but we didn't stop making
improvements with 3.0. In addition to adding support for sending audio
to Apple TVs with Airfoil 3.1, we've added support for sending audio to
iPhones and iPods Touch in Airfoil 3.3.

As well, Airfoil 3.4 added improved support for Griffin Radioshark USB radios
and Dashboard hijacking, along with better hijacking of non-standard
applications like Google Chrome.

Most recently, Airfoil made a much simpler task of transmitting audio from
VMWare Fusion and Parallels Desktop. It also gained support for sending
audio from EyeTV in sync with local video.

Airfoil 3 is the best it's ever been, and it's only getting better. If
you're still using Airfoil 2, it's time to update!

Airfoil 3 was first released over two years ago, and Airfoil 2 is no
longer supported. We encourage all users to move up to Airfoil 3.
Regularly $10, through the end of the month you can move up for just $7,

4. 2009 In Review

The year started out well, with the first public preview of our newest
product, Pulsar. With Pulsar (and an XM or SIRIUS account), you can
stream audio from XM or SIRIUS without needing to use your browser.
Having a stand-alone application for XM and SIRIUS makes listening much
more convenient, and works great with Airfoil and Audio Hijack Pro as well.

In February, we updated Nicecast to add support for algoriddim's djay
application. Nicecast works great with many different digital DJing
applications, so if you need to broadcast audio on the internet, be
sure to check it out.

April saw the release of Airfoil Speakers Touch, for the iPhone and iPod
Touch. With Airfoil and Airfoil Speakers Touch, you can send audio from
your Mac or Windows machine to your iPhone or iPod Touch. Suddenly, your
handheld device acts as a set of wireless headphones for your computer!

We also unveiled the first official release of Pulsar, version 1.5.
Pulsar 1.5 added several new features including click-to-tune and mini-mode.

The summer was quiet for us, as we worked on updates for compatibility
with Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard). In August, we updated our free audio
device switcher SoundSource to version 2.5.

http://www.rogueamoeba.com/utm/2009/08/27/soundsource-2-5-and-a-story-about-the-menubar/

Just two weeks after the release of Snow Leopard, all of our software
was updated for full compatibility.

http://www.rogueamoeba.com/utm/2009/09/10/airfoil-and-audio-hijack-pro-updates-bring-100-snow-leopard-compatibility/

In October, we released a major update to Airfoil, with version 3.4.
Airfoil 3.4 is the first of our major applications built on top of our
new AudioHijackKit 2 framework. This update brought many improvements
for users, but even more important, it heralds the future of all of our
hijacking-based applications. This technology will power new versions of
our software for years to come.

http://www.rogueamoeba.com/utm/2009/10/14/airfoil-3-4-a-new-beginning/

We also hired two additional employees, Dan Wineman and Christa Mrgan.
Dan is doing programming work for us, starting with work on Radioshift,
while Christa is handling graphic design for products and more.

November was something of a frustrating month for us, as we fought with
Apple over the limitations of the iPhone's App Store. Public backlash that arose from an incident wherein we were forced
to remove functionality from Airfoil Speakers Touch caused Apple to re-examine their policies, ultimately enabling us
to restore the functionality to the application. Victory!

http://www.rogueamoeba.com/utm/2009/11/13/airfoil-speakers-touch-1-0-1-finally-ships/

http://www.rogueamoeba.com/utm/2009/11/13/airfoil-speakers-touch-correcting-misconceptions/

http://www.rogueamoeba.com/utm/2009/11/23/airfoil-speakers-touch-1-0-2-is-now-available/

Our frustrations with the App Store have led us to state that for the
future, we plan to focus solely on the Mac (and Windows, with Airfoil
for Windows). We'll be supporting our existing iPhone applications, but
we no longer have plans for major development on the platform. We'll be
watching it, and we hope to see improvements. Perhaps in time things will get
better, but for now we're happy to be developing for the Mac.

Finally, in December, we released a major update to Radioshift, our
internet radio recorder. This update adds support for thousands of new
streams, improves the interface, and fixes dozens of small issues. This
is by far the best version of Radioshift yet, so if you're looking to
listen to and record internet radio, check it out.

http://www.rogueamoeba.com/utm/2009/12/30/radioshift-1-5-has-arrived/

Of course, we're not slowing down. We're hard at work on the future,
so read on for more!

5. Plans For 2010

In the immediate future, we're busy planning for Macworld (see section 4
above). As well, a major new version of Nicecast has entered planning stages. We also expect a feature upgrade to Pulsar by the summer.

We're still looking for a Senior Cocoa Developer to help us bring the next
major version of Audio Hijack Pro to completion. For more details on this. see our blog post:
