Introduction

In 2004, we sent out our first end-of-the-year mailing and the response was great, so we thought we'd do it again. 2005 has been a year of changes for Rogue Amoeba, and we've gotten where we are with your support, so let us begin with a hearty "Thank you!". We'd like to show our appreciation with some coupons exclusively for you guys!

Exclusive Coupons

First up, we've got an exclusive discount on our own products just for you folks. You can use coupon code USERLIST to save 17% on any order through the Rogue Amoeba store. Next up, we've worked out a discount with Adam Engst over at TidBITS and the Take Control Ebooks series. Andy Williams Affleck new book on podcasting, entitled "Take Control Of Podcasting On The Mac", is written exclusively for Mac users who are interested in podcasting, and includes a great overview of using Audio Hijack Pro to create a podcast. It's the best book on podcasting for the Mac we've seen so far, so we thought some of you might be interested to read it.

If you're looking to start a podcast, or you just want more information on it, you'll want to read Take Control Of Podcasting On The Mac. The normal price on this book is $10, but through January 31st you can save 25% with coupon code CPN002951216AHP. That brings the price down to a very affordable $7.50. Click below to learn more, then click the Buy button on that page to have the coupon automatically applied.

The Future

2005 brought a new addition to our software lineup, with Airfoil (the application formerly known as Slipstream). If you're not aware of Airfoil, it's an application to enable you to send any audio to Apple's AirPort Express. As you read this, we're hard at work on the release of Airfoil 2. We've been working for months on this major update to our hottest new application, and we really think it's going to take the world by storm.

We're planning to unveil Airfoil 2 around or at Macworld, but we thought we'd share some of the key new features with you now. First, Airfoil 2 features a sleek new interface, along with basic audio effects like our popular 10 band equalizer. We also directly support pulling audio from Dashboard widgets, great for users of widgets like RabbitRadio. Airfoil 2 also offers support for pulling audio directly from USB radios like the RadioShark, audio devices such as a microphone, and even all audio on your system, using the System Audio option.

On top of all that, Airfoil has one more amazing new feature. Starting with Airfoil 2, you'll be able to send audio from an application to multiple AirPort Express units at the same time. We've taken the AirPort Express beyond even what Apple envisioned, enabling you to send audio around your house to any and all units you have. We think this will be huge, so stay tuned!

Beyond Airfoil 2, we've got several brand new products in the pipeline that we plan to release in 2006. Expect to see some big changes in our Audio Hijack line, new tools for podcasters, the results of research into new file editing technologies, and even a foray into a different and very large market. That's all we're saying for now, but as always, stay tuned!

Closing

We've had a great 2005 at Rogue Amoeba, and hope you have as well. We hope to see you at Macworld (that's booth #431), but for now, have happy holidays and a happy new year, and know that Rogue Amoeba appreciates your support. Please email us with any and all feedback, questions, problems, or comments (support@rogueamoeba.com). If everything is working well for you, then as always, please spread the good word.
