Introduction
Now that that's out of the way, howdy! Paul here, Rogue Amoeba CEO/Lackey, with a couple quick news items I thought I'd share with you.

2. Exclusive Coupons
This year we've again arranged for some coupons exclusively for you, our loyal customers and readers, on products that should be of interest to you.

A. iWOW iTunes Audio Plugin
As a Rogue Amoeba customer, you may be aware that we helped create the very first audio plugin for iTunes back in 2003. In 2006, we've worked with SRS Labs to bring their iWOW plugin to iTunes.

As part of our license arrangement for the technology we provide to bring these plugins into iTunes, we've arranged a discount just for our customers - that's you! Through January 7th, 2007, you can save 20% off the purchase of iWOW, with promo code ROGAMBIWOW. Visit the iWOW website to download the trial and start enhancing all your music, then purchase right online.

Enter your promo code (ROGAMBIWOW) right here.

B. Take Control eBooks
Last year, we had a coupon on the "Take Control Of Podcasting On The Mac" book, from TidBITS eBooks, and version 1.2 of this great digital tome has just come out. This new version features updated information on Audio Hijack Pro, as well as new instructions for using Fission for podcasts. If you're a Mac user who's interested in learning more about podcasts, this is the book for you.

If you haven't checked it out before, now's the time, as we've got an even better deal provided just for you by Adam Engst over at TidBITS. C. NetTunes iTunes Remote Control
Nicecast users are sure to be interesting in discounted pricing on the 2004 Eddy Award-winning netTunes, from Shirt Pocket Software (makers of the fabulous system utility SuperDuper). NetTunes enables fast and easy remote access to iTunes from across the internet, meaning you can control a copy of iTunes running on another computer. This is perfect for Nicecast users who are broadcasting from iTunes on a home machine. I use Nicecast to create a personal radio station to listen to when I'm on the road. Using netTunes to control iTunes and my home music library has been a great improvement to this setup.

So if you need remote control to iTunes for use with Nicecast, or if you've just been looking for a good iTunes remote to use across a home network, have a look at netTunes. With coupon code ROGUEAMOEBA, you can save $5 off NetTunes through January 15th.

3. Take A Look At Fission
Fission was first announced in June when we were looking for testers, but it's been our major project for the entire year. It's doing quite well but it's possible you haven't seen it yet. So let us provide a quick overview of Fission, our newest product.

Fission is a streamlined audio editor for OS X 10.4 and up. It's designed to get you editing in minutes, not hours. It works with MP3, AAC, Apple Lossless and AIFF audio, enabling you to instantly trim and split files with no quality loss! It's designed to stand on its own, but it also makes a great companion to Audio Hijack Pro. Use Fission to edit any recordings you make with Audio Hijack Pro!

With Fission, you can break a long recording up, by using split to create multiple files. You can remove unwanted audio, like commercials, from audio you want to keep. Use the fade functions to fade audio in and out, creating a pleasing listening experience. You can even use it to create MP3 and AAC ringtones for your cell phone!

Fission is available for immediate download and purchase. It costs just $32 or it can be purchased in a money-saving bundle with Audio Hijack Pro for $50. If you already own Audio Hijack Pro, you can get a coupon for $14 off Fission .

4. Audio Hijack Pro 2.7 & Airfoil 2
Audio Hijack Pro and Airfoil both received major updates in 2006. First up, version 2.7 of our audio recording tool Audio Hijack Pro was released in July. This update brought a major change under the hood, enabling audio recording from Skype and iChat with a single click. Podcasters have been using Audio Hijack Pro to record audio chat for some time, and version 2.7 was designed to make it much easier. Check out the latest Audio Hijack Pro (2.7.1) on our site.

Airfoil hit version 2 way back in January, but I thought I'd cover it one more time. This major update to our AirPort Express enhancement tool brought with it a pretty new interface, as well as the ability to stream audio to multiple units simultaneously. Airfoil 2 also has audio effects for adjusting audio, support for more audio sources, and much more. It's a free update for all registered users, so grab the newest Airfoil (2.0.5) on our site.

5. Fun Rogue Amoeba Merchandise
Several years back, we printed up a small batch of Rogue Amoeba t-shirts to use ourselves at corporate events, as well as to sell to anyone who wanted to show off their fine taste in software. When that batch ran out, we never printed more, and now they're a very rare collector's item.

This year we printed up a new t-shirt design, the same one we wore at our booth at Macworld San Francisco 2006. If you're interested, you can read more about our new shirts right here and order one for yourself.

The shirts are available in black and blue, and cost just $10. You can also pick up a plush Ammo the amoeba toy while you're at it. To purchase, just visit our merchandise page.

6. 2006: A Year In Review
Like 2005 before it, 2006 has been a big year for Rogue Amoeba.

In January, we exhibited at Macworld San Francisco, unveiling the new Airfoil 2 featuring the ability to broadcast to multiple AirPort Express units. It was a great show, and Airfoil 2 won a Showtime Award from MacMinute.com.

March brought our first Intel releases, and by the end of the month we had official support for all of our major applications.

We were quiet in April, but May was a huge month for us, as we released our first (and only) Windows application, Airfoil for Windows, into beta! In addition, we announced the hiring of two new employees, Joseph and Guy, bringing our little family up to six people.

In July, we released Audio Hijack Pro 2.7, a major update for podcasters looking to record audio from Skype and iChat. As well, we introduced a fun new freebie, PongSaver, the pong-based screensaver.

Airfoil for Windows finally reached a full 1.0 in August, and it's been gaining steam ever since.

September was a busy month. Fission 1.0 was released to much acclaim and we had a well-linked post on how Rogue Amoeba came to be. We also started selling new, stylish t-shirts and exhibited at the second annual Podcast Expo.

October saw an update to our user forums and a great new conference in Chicago, C4.

November brought quite a bit of controversy, with our posts on the Delicious Generation as well as Software As Entertainment. Fission also got its first major update, reaching version 1.1.

That brings us to December, where we've just this instant (give or take) learned that Fission has won an Eddy award, from Macworld magazine. Huzzahs are in order!

As always, we're hard at work on the future. Read on for more!

7. The Future
2007 will be Rogue Amoeba's fifth year and it may just be our the biggest. We're taking the year off from exhibiting at Macworld, though I'll be there as part of the MacBrainiac Challenge - stop by and see if I make a fool of myself!

Meanwhile, we've got a brand new product on the horizon which is bound to shake things up for the Audio Hijack line and the recording world at large. Four years ago, we made it possible to record radio from the internet over and people were amazed. Now, we're working to make the experience much, much better. Keep your eyes peeled for our brand new application in the first half of 2007.

Of course, all our existing applications are sure to see updates as well. We're doing preliminary research on a next major update to Airfoil, and you can be sure that Fission isn't done growing either. Keep your eye on our website and join us in 2007 and beyond!

8. Closing
2006 has been a great one at Rogue Amoeba and we hope it's treated you well too. Have happy holidays and if you don't get everything you asked for, just know that Rogue Amoeba appreciates your support.

As always, please email us with any and all feedback, questions, problems, or comments.

If everything is working well for you, then as always, please spread the good word. Your positive word of mouth to others is more valuable than any advertising we do.
