Issues unzipping SoundSource

We occasionally hear from users having difficulty opening our software after they've downloaded it. We've seen that some third-party tools on the Mac can fail to unzip files properly. If you see an error indicating the application you've downloaded is “damaged”, please read on.

Fortunately, this issue is easy to fix, by using MacOS's built-in Archive Utility tool to unzip the software.

Unzipping SoundSource with Archive Utility

1) First up, download SoundSource from our site, but don't open the .zip file just yet. (You may need to disable Safari's Open ‘safe’ files after download preference.)

2) Click the .zip file once in the Finder to highlight it, then select Get Info from the File menu.

3) In the Open With section, select Archive Utility. This decompression utility comes with MacOS to open .zip files, and it's absolutely the most reliable tool for the job.

4) Now, open the .zip file by double-clicking. With the new settings, it will be opened by Archive Utility and you should be set.
