Information for:
Collecting debugging logs from Airfoil for Mac

In the course of troubleshooting, Rogue Amoeba’s Support team may request debugging logs from our applications. Debugging data from Airfoil for Mac provides information we can use to verify the app’s functionality and isolate any reported issues from those logs.

Enabling debugging logs and collecting the log file

To enable debugging logs, you need to access Airfoil for Mac’s Debugging window. To do this, hold down the Option key on your keyboard when the Help menu is open. The Contact Rogue Amoeba… command will change to Quit and Relaunch for Debugging. Select that option and Airfoil for Mac will quit and relaunch directly to its Debugging window.

In the Logging & Debugging section of the Debugging window, you will find the following log options:

Airfoil
ARK
Bonjour
Chromecast
HTTPServer
Sampler
SSR
Track Titles

Be sure to enable only the specific debugging logs requested by Support, then click the Done button. Airfoil for Mac will then launch as usual and generate a log file on the Desktop.

Run your setup to reproduce the issue you have discussed with Support, and then quit Airfoil for Mac to finish saving that data to the log file.

Attach that log file to an email reply, and send it over so our Support team can take a closer look.
