Hello from Rogue Amoeba! In this email is a big announcement about the setup process for our apps, as well as news of support for Apple’s newest OS update and a special discount.
The whole team here at Rogue Amoeba has been waiting more than four years to be able to announce this: you can now be up and running with all of Rogue Amoeba’s apps in seconds. The clunky setup process that required multiple restarts and a scary-sounding change to your Mac’s “Security Policy” is gone. Good riddance!
Now, getting started takes only a few clicks. With our latest releases on MacOS 14 (Sonoma) or MacOS 15 (Sequoia), Airfoil, Audio Hijack, and Piezo use a completely installer-free setup, one which doesn’t even need your administrator password. The latest versions of Loopback and SoundSource do require your password to install their powerful new ARK plugin, but you won’t need to perform a single system restart or touch system security settings.
It took a lot of hard work to make things this easy. In conjunction with folks at Apple, we’ve been working on this since way back in 2020. That’s when changes in MacOS 11 (Big Sur) led to the clunky setup process described above. That painful process was a hurdle that prevented both new and existing users from using our software, and we’re thrilled it’s now a thing of the past.

Apple has released the newest edition of the Mac’s operating system, MacOS 15 (Sequoia), and all of Rogue Amoeba’s products are ready for it. In fact, Sequoia was supported on day one, so if you’re ready to update, our apps are ready for you. Visit our site to download our latest versions, and you can move to Sequoia with confidence.
I’ll close with a special note for the software developers in our midst. If you work on a MacOS product that deals with audio, you should know that our powerful ARK-SDK is now available for licensing.

ARK-SDK also greatly simplifies MacOS’s notoriously tricky audio system, making it far easier to create a Mac audio application.
