Wow! One hundred different participants have now signed up at MacSanta.com, and that's amazing. Thanks to MacSanta, you can now save on over 200 different software products, from companies both big and small.

There are Macworld Best of Show winners, Apple Design Award winners, and Macworld Eddy winners. There are programs so new they haven't even been reviewed yet. There are applications from companies who've been on the Mac for more than a decade, and applications from one guy working his tail off in his garage. There are games, utilities, system enhancements and much more, and it's all 20% off.

What do we, the participants of MacSanta, all have in common? We're all coming together and offering discounts in the hopes of more people checking out the great Mac software you might not find in the Apple store. In exchange, you can learn about some new stuff you've never heard of before, and get a great deal on purchasing it. Not too shabby!

If you'd like to help spread the word, please feel free to use any of the following images on your own site:

Recap: Through December 25th, 20% off hundreds of great Mac software applications at http://www.macsanta.com. Spread the word!

The 20% off doesn't appear to apply to bundles, like Audio Hijack Pro plus Fission ($32 each separately or a $50 bundle). If you put in the MACSANTA code on the bundle, the price goes UP (from $50 to $51.20). Too bad, because it would be ultra- super-cool to get the bundle for 20% off (and I can't wait until Macworld for is <sigh>).

Oh, well. It's still a good deal.

As far as our own store goes, it applies to all individual products.

The Audio Hijack Pro and Fission bundle is already deeply discounted, and no further discounts apply. We think it's a great deal already.

As for Macworld, I'm not sure what you mean here.

You may have noticed that I already said it's still a good deal. ;o)

As for Macworld, lots of companies exhibit there and, being "in person" it's a good way to talk to small developers and find out how their applications will work for the particular task you had in mind. Many also offer "show specials" for products purchased from them at their booth.

In my case, I'm hoping to be done by Christmas (tomorrow), so I can't afford to wait to talk to a bunch of developers or hope for some other discount (on this or other software). So even though I don't KNOW that Audio Hijack Pro will work for me, I took the leap and purchased anyway.

Yeah, I could have just used the demo version and played with that, but I want to record an hour of audio, and I figure quality software deserves to be paid for.

So as far as I'm concerned, the "take aways" from this are:
1) The MacSanta discount is great on individual products;
2) Bundles already have their own discount applied; don't accidentally try to replace that with the MacSanta discount; and
3) Merry Christmas!

So please don't feel on the defensive for anything. I'm a new (paying) customer and don't have any complaints. And if Rogue Amoeba exhibits at Macworld, I'll stop by and say hello. ;o)

Tim: I gotcha. You seemed to be saying that the MWSF discount would be a guaranteed greater deal, but that bundle price is the lowest I imagine it will ever be.

Anyhow, we won't be at MWSF this year, though I will be (on the MacBrainiac challenge, trying not to bring shame to my family). We'll be there in 2008 though, and we always enjoy feedback via email.

Thanks for offering this discount.  Between the MacSanta and MacHeist promotions, this hopefully helped a lot of other developers get noticed.

I was already looking at buying either Audio Hijack Pro or Fission, but this discount helped to nudge me over the edge so I made the purchase a little sooner.  I'm finally getting some old cassettes brought over to a digital form, and Fission looks like it will work out nicely for my needs.  Thanks!
