Airfoil

Send any audio to AirPort Express units, Apple TVs, and even other Macs and PCs, all in sync! It's your audio — everywhere.

With Airfoil you can take audio from any application and send to your AirPort Express units, as well as Apple TVs, and even other Macs and PCs running Airfoil Speakers! Transmit audio from RealPlayer, Windows Media Player, QuickTime Player, and other media players. Send audio from web-based applications like Pandora, Last.fm, and more. You can even stream audio from audio devices like RadioSHARK, XM and Sirius radios, all around your house.

Airfoil for Mac also features two secondary applications, Airfoil Speakers and Airfoil Video Player. With Airfoil Speakers, users can turn any Mac on the local network into a virtual AirPort Express, sending audio to remote Macs in addition to AirPort Express units. Airfoil Video Player enables users to play back video locally while audio plays remotely - it's perfect for use with projectors and other home theater setups.

Rogue Amoeba also makes Airfoil For Windows, a Windows version of Airfoil. Airfoil For Windows is a distinct application from Airfoil For Mac, with its own feature set and update schedule. Fission

Fission is a streamlined audio editor designed to get users editing in minutes, not hours.

Fission edits mono and stereo AAC, MP3, Apple Lossless, and AIFF, with no quality loss, because it doesn't re-encode. Fission is designed for simple editing tasks - removing clips of audio, splitting one long file into multiple shorter files (segments of a radio show, tracks from a vinyl album), fading audio in or out, and editing ID3 tags.

Fission is lightweight, but extremely powerful at what it does. The learning curve should be small, particularly compared to most of the more expensive competition.

Fission is currently aimed at users may wish to trim out commercials or other parts of recordings or split recordings into multiple files. As well, Fission can be used to create MP3 and AAC ring tones for cell phones, providing a great alternative to re-paying for every audio you already own.
