The recently released Audio Hijack 4 is a major upgrade to our flagship audio recorder and processor. We counted, and this new version includes an astonishing 107 new features, enhancements, improvements, and bug fixes. Here are just a few of the many notable updates:

A Revised Interface, With Light Mode
We pored over every inch of the app, working to make it better and easier to use. Changes include a new Light mode, as well as rethought popovers, improved blocks, and myriad smaller improvements and refinements.

Scripting Support
With programmatically-driven workflows powered by JavaScript, a whole new world of automation is now possible. Not fluent in JavaScript? No worries! Built-in scripts and Shortcuts for MacOS 12 make automation possible for anyone.

Manual Connections
For power users with complex setups, we’ve implemented the ability to manually connect your audio pipeline. You can now optionally draw wires between blocks to achieve tricky setups, independent of layout.

Three Powerful New Blocks
Add new functionality to your Audio Hijack sessions. The Mixer block is a powerful tool for podcasters and live streamers, while the Simple Compressor and Magic Boost blocks offer easy one-click audio adjustment.

With three digits’ worth of improvements, there’s much, much more to discover. Existing users are encouraged to visit these links:

--- Farrago Section Header ---

Since we first unveiled Farrago in 2018, it’s established itself as the Mac’s premier soundboard application. As a much-loved part of our Ultimate Podcast Bundle, it’s become a key tool for podcast creators and live performers of all stripes.

If you’re already using Farrago, you’ll be glad to hear that the next major upgrade to Farrago recently entered the beta-testing phase. Here’s a small taste of what’s coming:

Audio Editing
A simple editor will soon be found right in each tile, enabling you to trim sounds and add fades. Get the exact sound you want, right in Farrago.

Smart Sets
Dynamically updating sets controlled by powerful rules? Yes indeed! Organize based on tile titles, settings, play count, and more.

Lockable Sets
Avoid accidental edits and changes to your sets. For shared environments, passwords will prevent unauthorized changes.

Tile Search
A powerful new search field will highlight matching tiles in the current set, and show results from other sets as well.

Preview Tiles
Use a secondary device for previewing before sending audio to your main output.

Stream Deck & OSC Support
You'll soon have many new integration options, including direct control via Open Sound Control (OSC), as well as support for Stream Deck hardware.

That’s just some of what we’re working on for Farrago. We’re aiming to ship this update later this year, and we can’t wait for you to use it. For now, check out the current version of Farrago right here, and know that it’s about to get even better.

--- SoundSource Section Header ---

We’re currently putting the finishing touches on the next version of our tremendously popular sound control utility SoundSource. This update will include three key new features:

Audio Effect Nicknames
With custom effect names in SoundSource 5.5, telling effects apart will be much easier. Just edit the title of each effect and you’ll always know exactly what’s what.

Standard Audio Unit Presets
SoundSource 5.5 will include the ability to save Audio Unit effects presets, readable by any application which supports Audio Units. It will also read presets created by such applications.

Shortcuts.app Actions
On MacOS 12 (Monterey) and higher, SoundSource 5.5 will offer a slew of actions in the Shortcuts app. With them, you’ll be able to automate changing device volumes, setting effect presets, toggling effects processing, and much more.

If you’re already a user, just be sure the software update preference is active in SoundSource’s Preferences. We plan to ship this complimentary update in the next few weeks.

If you haven’t used SoundSource before, visit our site to learn more and grab the free trial. It will change the way you use audio on your Mac.
