Hello from Rogue Amoeba
Volume 18, Issue 1 • June 20th, 2020

The last few months have been quite busy for Rogue Amoeba. We shipped multiple major updates, all free of charge. We also saw some amazing new uses of our software by folks suddenly working from home. Read on!

Working From Home? Our Software Can Help

Recently, usage of calling services like Zoom, FaceTime, Webex, and more has soared. For many, work now involves a tremendous amount of calls. Our tools are here to help make it all sound a little sweeter.

We've posted several easy-to-follow tutorials in our Knowledge Base, to help you:

We hope these tutorials make your life, and your work, a bit better. Still, if you need a true break from the crush of calls, you can always try this

Take SoundSource for a Spin

Do you use audio on your Mac in any way? Almost certainly, which means our utility SoundSource is for you. With SoundSource running in your menu bar, you can control audio on a per-app basis, add effects, and even adjust your Mac's sound settings instantly.

In our recent major update to  SoundSource 4.2, we added a powerful volume overdrive feature, a handy visual menu bar meter, and more.

SoundSource is so good, it ought to be built into MacOS. Visit the SoundSource page to learn more, and download the free trial.

Bonus tip: SoundSource provides volume control for any audio devices, even HDMI and DisplayPort outputs the system refuses to adjust. Your keyboard volume controls also work with any device, using the “Super Volume Keys” feature.

Live Stream With Audio Hijack

With people around the world confined to their homes, we realized we could help content creators. Using Audio Hijack, musicians, DJs, and podcasters can now share and monetize their work with ease.

Audio Hijack's new Live Stream block works with free streaming platforms like YouTube Live, Twitch, and Facebook Live to send content to people around the globe. See our Audio Hijack 3.7 blog post to get started.

Major Updates To Farrago, Airfoil, and Fission

Since our last email in October, we've shipped more than two dozen releases, including major updates to several more products.

Our soundboard app Farrago gained over 30 new features in version 1.5. Capturing all the changes is impossible in just a few sentences, but of special note is the overhauled List mode. It's been redesigned for use with well-planned podcasts, theater performances, and other live events.

Airfoil, our audio streaming tool, received many improvements and refinements in its recent version 5.9 update. Even better, we shipped major new versions of our mobile companion apps: Airfoil Satellite for iOS and Airfoil Satellite for Android. The Airfoil family continues to be the ideal way to stream audio from your Mac all around your house.

For editing audio, our venerable editor Fission is still fast and easy to use. In the latest update to version 2.5, Fission gained full Dark Mode support, and we updated custom ringtone saving for iPhones as well.

You can ensure you always have the latest versions of our apps by keeping the automatic software update functionality turned on in preferences.

As Always, Stay Tuned
